Hibiscus International School offers Cambridge IGCSE; the world’s most popular international curriculum for 14-16-year-olds, which leads to globally recognized and valued Cambridge IGCSE qualifications. On top of the 7 compulsory subjects, students choose 4 optional subjects to pursue in years 10 and 11.
Cambridge IGCSE encourages learner-centered and inquiry-based approaches to learning. It develops learners’ skills in creative thinking, inquiry, and problem solving, giving learners excellent preparation for the next stage in their education. Clearly defined learning outcomes and content, mean Cambridge IGCSE is compatible with our curricula and is internationally relevant and sensitive to different needs and cultures of our times.
Cambridge IGCSE develops learner knowledge, understanding, and skills in:

Compulsory Subjects: English as First Language, Extended Mathematics, ICT, Biology, Bahasa Malay, Mandarin, Islamic / Moral Studies, Physical Education
Optional Subjects: Additional Mathematics, English Literature, Physics, Accounting, Business Studies, Chemistry
Assessment: Assessment for Cambridge IGCSE includes written and oral tests, coursework, and practical assessment. Coursework is set and marked by the teacher and externally moderated by Cambridge.
Each learner’s performance is benchmarked using eight internationally recognized grades. There are clear guidelines, which explain the standard of achievement for different grades. Cambridge IGCSE examination sessions occur in May/June for us at Hibiscus International School and results are issued in August.
Cambridge Progression: Cambridge offers routes learners can follow from the post-kindergarten stage through to university entrance. Our provision also includes first-class support for our students and teachers.
